Meet Elizabeth

We would like you to meet our new friend, Elizabeth, who shared her incredible story with us after our show last week at the Vera Project.

My name is Elizabeth Schiffler, and I saw you first in L.A. opening for The Head and the Heart (you guys were amazing). As I lived/studied in SoCal while my father was battling cancer in Seattle, I found myself diving into the Seattle music scene online and finding some connection to home, even when everything was spinning out of control. “Open Air” was a song that I listened to when I felt I couldn’t breathe, and wasn’t sure how I was going to get through the next few hours. I did. I’m here and I’m home, and it is music like yours that helped me realize the place I should be was Seattle.

Her story moved us in a way nothing else has, and it was inspiring to hear that our simple song was able to heal and serve such a higher purpose.  After the passing of her father three months ago, Elizabeth and her family created the Ken Schiffler Foundation for Music Education, which aims to promote music education in schools and youth programs in Seattle.  If you would like to connect with Elizabeth and show your support for her foundation, please check out their Facebook page.  She is certainly one courageous girl.

Blog Love

We have felt a lot of love and support out there lately, and we just wanted to give it right back and support those who are supporting us. Check out these two blog posts, and then check out the rest of their music writings. Trust me, it will be worth your time.

The anæchronist

Introducing: Lemolo

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

When we decided to start a blog, it wasn’t the content that was the difficult task, but rather the first post. Though it may seem trivial, we had placed a substantial sentimental value on the first post of the Anæchronist. It’s the same trivial importance that forces us to continuously reconsider our order at a restaurant. Choosing from a menu of thousands of bands, we decided to introduce the Anæchronist by introducing a band whose collaborative effort seems to parallel ours.

Rarity In Form

Introducing: Lemolo

Lemolo, Open Air, Dylan Priest, Doe Bay

Aaand we’re back! Rarity In Form is kicking off the new year with Lemolo, an excellent new group out of Seattle. This duo is powered by Meagan Grandall (vocals, keys & guitar) and Kendra Cox (drums & keys). The two come together to create an infectious collaboration of energy and sound. Grandall’s vocal range remains pleasantly steady throughout most of their songs yet will surprise you with a powerful punch that comes out of nowhere. Cox supplies a steady backdrop that keeps the songs on track but can seriously rock on the drums; especially on tracks like In Black & White.

So bundle up, find some new music and blog away on this wonderful snowy day!

XOXO,
Kendra & Meagan

It’s the Final Countdown!

Dear Friends,

We are excited to announce that we are on the final stretch of recording our album, and will be heading into the mixing studio next week!  So far we have finished all of the vocals, piano, keyboards, guitar and drums, and will be spending the next few days finishing up percussion, harmonies and extra details.  We hope you enjoy these photos from our time in the studio, and can’t wait to share our record with you.

xoxo,

Meagan & Kendra

Lucky Ladies

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Leanne, the designer and owner of Elroy Apparel.  She saw us perform at this year’s Doe Bay Festival, and wanted to help us by donating some of her clothing for our upcoming shows.  Check out these beautiful dresses and more on her website!

Happy New Year!
