Feeling The Love:

Last night we had our album release party at The Sunset for our EP, Lounge Light, and of all the shows to date this one takes the cake for the amount of love that was in the room. We owe a big thank you to every one who came out last night, you guys are all great.

We also want to thank the bands that joined us for the celebration last night, Viper Creek ClubThe Birthdays, and Michael Harper.

Now that we have our EP out we’re just itching to get back into the studio a.s.a.p. and keep recording, we’ll keep you posted don’t worry!

xoxo,
Kendra

25 Mar 2010 at Neumos

If you haven’t heard of Colonies, you will soon. Their show at Neumos on Thursday night was most definitely an indicator that they will be blowing up in the not so distant future. Thursday’s showcase of lovely local indie pop-rock bands consisted of: Lemolo, The Mopes, Conservative Dad and, of course, Colonies. Every band that night blew me away and, if you’re looking to support your local music scene (which I assume you are), you should definitely take a few minutes out of your day and give a listen to all of these bands. Let your ears be happy, they deserve it.

So Close And Yet So Far Away:

Horsham, Pennsylvania to Poulsbo, Washington: 2,907 miles.

This is how far our EP’s have to come before they make it to us. UPS’s tracking system tells us they will be here by the 30th, but I think that’s quite a lot of milage to trek in just two days, we’ll see.

We’re super, super excited about our album release party at the Sunset Tavern and hope to see you there! We’re playing withThe Birthdays who are also making this their album release party, thus it should be a grand time!

xoxo,
Kendra

“I’m Just A Happy Kid”:

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our show at Neumos last night! Kendra and I had the time of our lives playing on that stage, and we hope you enjoyed yourselves as well. For those of you who couldn’t make it, we were lucky enough to have our friend, Nelson Barnard, run sound for us, and he did a phenomenal job. We also enjoyed the amenities of a real green room…free arcade video games and an epic Nada Surf sing-along session with the fellows of Conservative Dad, The Mopes and Colonies. We played an almost entirely new set of songs, so please let us know what you thought of them! Here is a photograph taken by my dear friend and devoted Lemolo fan, Aaron Yoon. (He is the one responsible for the group clap breakout during our closing song, “Beautiful Night!”) More photographs to come in a few days…
